In this session we'll be using OnShape to personalise our console case.
We'll be adding our name to the case and designing buttons we can add to it.

Log in using your ingen.info email and the password: ChooChoo#42
Once logged in create a new document giving it your name.
You should now see the editor (above)
4. You will need to import the exisiting case model
5. Click the 'Plane' drop down control (the arrow to the right of it not the square itself)
6. Menu should look like this
You need to click the 'Derived' icon near the bottom of the list
Then click:

Then the green tick mark.
You should now be able to see the case, and rotate around it with the right mouse button held.
Next click Sketch and then the side of the case we want to add our name to.
Click the 'Text' command and drag a rectangle (where the text will be placed) on the side of the box - then enter your name. (you may want to mirror and flip it)
If the text apears in red you may need to delete some 'constraints' - click the red boxes with the icons in and press delete
Once you're happy click the green check mark
Now to make the text 3D we'll need to 'extrude' the text by clicking the extrude command and then the sketch
Change the depth to 1mm
Then click the green check mark
Next we want to add a button
Many of the steps are the same as adding text.
First we rotate the box so we can see the front.
Then add a sketch to the front
Next draw a rectangle on the button areas
Click the green check mark
Extrude
Make sure New is selected not Add
We want to create anew part not add to an existing one.
Change the Depth to 1mm
and click the green check mark
Add a new sketch to the top of the cuboid you just created
Add a circle to it that doesn't overlap the screen
Then green tick
Extrude the sketch by a depth of 1mm (making sure you're creating a cylinder - you may need to click the circle and square to do this)
Click the green check mark
You've created your first component (hide the case to see it better)
See if you can figure out how to add you own flair or design to the case
So I can print it you need to share it with the Team
Click the top left onshape icon to go back to the docs
Then right click the document you created and click 'share'
Click the 'Teams' tab and 'Search names' click St Finians Steam Club - Share and Close
